Have you ever wondered why other websites seem to rank higher than your own website? Have you ever wondered why other high quality websites struggle to get onto the first page?
The reason for this is, their primary keywords are in the domain name, but this seems to be the least talked about ranking factors, yet it is the most heavily weighted factor when it comes to ranking in the search engines.
There are two reasons for this:
- The domain name contains the keywords in it.
- Webmasters will be more likely to link to it using those keywords in the anchor text.
Google and the other major search engines have decided that websites with keywords in the domain name will be given more weight for those keywords therefore I highly suggest you find a domain name with a couple of your primary keywords in, this will give you a major boost than your competition.
With that being said, if you have already an established brand this may not be the best solution for your business, however you would want to first weigh up your options to determine the best overall strategy for your business, but first you should do your keyword research.
